The Hanging : 2008.
An installation and video work by : Neal Beggs, Dan Shipsides and Thibaut Espiau.
The Galway Art Center, Galway, Ireland.
The whole work is based on the idea of the traditional 'hanging' of artworks on the gallery wall. All the little pencil circles that Dan and Thibaut are drawing indicate the presence of old raw-plugs used for hanging paintings. We marked these, and then use some as the basis for hand and foot holds from which we would then hang our own bodies from.
